When I first loaded up this game, I was hit by the atmosphere almost instantly. The weight of the situation was evident the moment I took control of my three survivors and began scavenging in our new safe house. Everything was a choice of survival. There's enough randomizing elements in the game that keeps the replayability fresh and available. One time I got three lock picks and two items of jewelry as my larger finds. Another time I barely had enough supply to build two beds, a metal workshop to make equipment, and a crude stove.
It it was more than that, though. The scavenging, choosing moral high ground, and dealing with enemies pose a drastic threat. Your crew can be sad, tired, hungry, wounded, and sick. If they are, they need to be cared for. No bandages or pills? Better get lots of sleep and hope they get better. Who do you sent out to scavenge, leaving people home to either guard the house or sleep? Do you bring a gun or tools to get into areas of the map...risking them using up a slot you could have stuffed scavenged food into?
everything is a weighty choice, and death comes easily in this game. It isn't perfect, but that it offers is something amazing, a tale that needs to be experienced.
With some repeating elements and tedious gameplay, the final score is an 8.75 out of 10 for me.

I watched some of TotalBiscuit's video of the game. It does look pretty interesting, and judging by the mostly positive reviews on Steam, it should be really good. Might end up getting it at some point.
