I saw the "Basics of Spanish"-thread and decided to do this for fun (Because I'm finnish).
Reallynuffin' much to say but the basic translations... And that our array with the words aren't either same as any other countries.
In finnish alphabet, every single letter is chanted just like in the alphabet.
These english words are basically copied from the other thread.
Finnish - Suomalainen
Yes - Kyllä
No - Ei
Hello - Hei/Terve/Moi
How are you? - Miten sinulla menee?
Good morning - Hyvää huomenta
Good afternoon/evening - Hyvää iltaa
Good night - Hyvää yötä
Goodbye - Hyvästi (Goodbye as forever) / Nähdään (See you-form)
Please - There isn't a basic translation. We use the word as a word for begging only. If we ask that "could you pass the salt, please?"
we'll say
"Voisitko ojentaa suolan?" The word "voisitko" (could you) creates the polite part.
Thank you - Kiitos
And here's some PoPs-themed extra that only idiots are interested about. (Ja tässä hieman PoPs- teemaisia erikoisuuksia joista vain idiootit ovat kiinnostuineita.)
Piece of Pie - Pala piirakkaa (Realise there's no "of"!)
Smart - Viisas / nokkela
Paul's Gaming - Paul pelaa
What Can Go Wrong, Will Go Wrong - Minkä on mahdollista mennä mönkään, menee mönkään
I do game playthroughs mainly, made to entertain with silly and often random humor. - Teen pääasiassa pelien läpipeluita, joita on tehty vain viihdyttämään hassulla ja usein omituisella huumorilla.
This doesn't teach, I know. Just wanted to translate and give some info in case some one is interested to get finnish lessons sometimes (not from me, no sir)
